ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team get back into the win column with a 7-2 win over Cedar Crest College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Knights honored their lone senior,
Dari Troilo, before the match. She then came out and won her first doubles match with partner
Hannah Asaka 8-0 and her match at second singles 6-1, 6-0.
Kylie Seeger and
Kannitha Phosouvanh-Sythong battled for an 8-7 (7-3) win at third doubles.
Kaitlyn Smith and
Alura Troilo fought hard at second doubles but dropped the match 8-7 (7-4).
Smith and Al. Troilo both rebounded in their singles matches. Smith winning first singles 6-0, 6-2 while Al. Troilo won fourth singles 6-0, 6-0.
Seeger tallied a 6-0, 6-2 win at fifth singles and
Kayleigh DellaVecchio took sixth singles 6-1, 6-1. Asaka battled at third singles, winning the first set 6-2 before falling 6-4, 10-5.
Neumann (3-3) will compete in the Atlantic East Conference semifinals tomorrow afternoon. The No. 4 seeded Knights head to No. 1 seeded Marymount. Action is slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
