RADNOR, Pa. – On Wednesday afternoon, the Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team dropped a 21-5 decision to the Cabrini University Cavaliers in the first game of the Atlantic East schedule.
Cabrini scored the first four goals of the game before
Lindsey Fagan scored an unassisted goal with 7:22 left in the first quarter. After the Cavaliers scored with a player down,
Jayana Murray received a pass from Fagan for a woman up goal. Cabrini scored the last three goals of the period for an 8-2 lead.
They continued their run, scoring all six goals of the second, extending their advantage to 12. 37 seconds into the third, Cabrini made it 15-2 before Neumann scored two straight.
Maggie Blemings and Fagan went back-to-back before another three goal streak by Cabrini. With 9:51 left in the game,
Brylin Adams notched an unassisted goal. The Cavaliers struck three more times to finish off the game.
Fagan led the offense with two goals and an assist. She also added two draw controls. Bryl. Adams picked up a goal and two assists with two draw controls of her own.
Maggie Miller led with Knights in ground balls with three.
Catriona Corrigan made 12 saves in goal.
Neumann (8-3, 0-1 Atlantic East) will return to action, next Wednesday, when they host Immaculata University. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
