VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Neumann University field hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision at Virginia Wesleyan University on Saturday morning.
The teams played a scoreless first half, with the Marlins outshooting the Knights 8-2 overall. Less than five minutes into the second half, Virginia Wesleyan broke through. The Marlins added another goal in the third quarter and two more in the fourth for the 4-0 win.
Jamie Reed and
Kaitlyn Smith each had two shots for the Knights.
Lindsey Naulty started the game and went the first three quarters, making six saves.
Emma Schneider played the fourth quarter.
The Knights made a push in the fourth quarter with seven shots.
Jacki Connolly and
Ronni Johnson each had looks at the net, but the Marlins keeper made the save.
Neumann (1-5) will head to Delaware Valley on Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
