LANCASTER, Pa. – The Neumann University Field Hockey team took down Lancaster Bible College in a non-conference matchup on Friday afternoon by a final score of 2-0.
 
The Knights' had the field tilted in their favor from the beginning and with 1:34 left in the first quarter, Cadence Conti, on a reverse shot, scored her first collegiate goal, for a 1-0 lead. Lancaster Bible started to respond to the Neumann attack with some entrances into the Knights' end, although the scoreline remained the same into the fourth.
 
In the final frame, Neumann poured on the pressure looking for an insurance marker. They finally broke through when Torie Millward poked home a rebound for her first college goal with 3:09 left in the game.
 
Conti and Elle Smith led the offense with three shots. Jacki Connolly had two shots, both going on goal. Michelle Hughes and Natalie Zoffer were credited with assists on the two Neumann goals. Caley Gee notched the shutout without having to face a shot on goal.
 
Neumann(2-8) will be back in action on Wednesday night when they open Atlantic East Conference play against Cabrini University. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
