HERSHEY, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision to their United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) rivals, Lebanon Valley College, on Saturday evening.
Neumann fell behind quickly, just 22 seconds into the game. They recovered from there and with 14:45 left in the first,
Jamiyah Alexander picked up her team-leading eighth goal of the season while on the power play.
Lian Sydorowicz had the lone assist to even the game at one. Towards the end of the period, the Flying Dutchwomen retook the lead on their own power play goal, taking a 2-1 lead into the second.
After the second went scoreless, Lebanon Valley scored another goal with the advantage giving them a two goal lead with 14:13 left in the third. They added an empty net goal with four seconds left to seal the game.
In addition to her goal, Alexander led the Knights with five shots on goal. Sydorowicz and
Emma Tauken each put up three shots while
Gia Santorello blocked two shots.
Ella Sciborski made 38 saves in net.
Neumann(4-9-2, 0-8-2 UCHC) will return to action on Friday, January 19, when they take a trip to Rochester, N.Y. to challenge Nazareth University. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
