ARLINGTON, Va. – The Neumann University Men's Basketball team battled their Atlantic East Conference rivals, Marymount University, but fell by a final score of 69-59 on Wednesday night.
 
This matchup of the two top teams in the conference started evenly as the game was even at 11 apiece after 10 minutes of play. From there Marymount went on a 12-2 tear to take control of the game. They extended the lead to 14 before Neumann's 
TJ Lewis hit a buzzer beating layup, pulling the Knights back within 11 at the interval.
 
The Saints surged ahead again, using a 12-5 pace over the first 2:46 of the second, giving them an 18 point edge. Neumann right back within 11 on a quick 7-0 run, closed by a 
Zaiyin Keys three-pointer. The Knights got as close as seven when, with four minutes left, they went on a 7-3 run, but Marymount hit their free throws to close out the game.
 
Lewis led the Knights with a 16 point effort and 
Amari Little added 14. 
Jalen Vaughns was a point and a rebound shy of another double-double, finishing with nine point in each category. 
Jarell Keel also had nine boards to go with his six points, two assists, and two blocks.
 
Neumann(6-13, 4-2 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Gwynedd Mercy University in another conference clash. The opening tip is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
