RYE, N.Y. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team dropped a 5-2 decision at Manhattanville College on Friday evening in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) matchup.
Each team lit the lamp in the first period. The Valiants opened the scoring at the 12:16 mark. The Knights tied the game with 1:45 left before the intermission as
Tyler Inlow scored off an assist from
Joe DiGiulio.
Manhattanville scored three goals in the second period to take a 4-1 lead. The Knights got their only man advantage of the game as time was winding down to the second intermission. With 3.2 seconds on the clock.
JD Speer scored his first collegiate goal.
Cameron Hatziioannou and DiGiulio tallied the assists on the power play goals.
The Valiants scored the lone goal in the third period for the 5-2 final.
Cole DeFazio made 33 saves in net. Inlow led the Knights with four shots. The team blocked 10 shots.
Neumann (5-11, 5-7 UCHC) will face-off with Manhattanville again tomorrow afternoon. The puck is slated to drop at 4:30 PM.
