GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – 
Amari Little hit a game-winning three-point shot with six seconds left as the Neumann University Men's Basketball team opened their conference schedule with a thrilling 80-78 win over Gwynedd Mercy.
 
The game started off as a war of attrition as neither team had more than a slight lead over the first five minutes. At the 15:04 mark, the Griffins went on a 9-3 jaunt, going from down four, to a lead of two. With Neumann trailing 21-18, they took charge of the game with a 12-3 stretch, closed out by a 
TJ Lewis three-ball, giving the Knights a six point edge. Gwynedd Mercy started to chip away at the lead, pulling within three. Over the last 2:43 of the half, the Knights went on an 11-4 run, sending Neumann to the locker room with a 50-40 lead.
 
Gwynedd came out for the second half on fire as they opened up with a 16-3 run over the first five minutes to take the lead at 56-53. Neumann went on a quick 30 second, five point scamper but the Griffins answered with their own 12-6 run, pushing the lead up to five with 10 minutes left in regulation. Once again, the Knights fought back with a 6-0 run to against nab the lead, but Gwynedd kept pace with a 10-3 stretch. Over the last 3:28, the Knights finished with a 7-0 run, including the winner.
 
Lewis led the Knights' with a season-high 27 point effort. Little came off the bench with a 23 point game adding three assists and picking up two steals. 
Jalen Vaughns was strong on the boards with nine rebounds, including four off of the offensive glass. He also had two blocks as well as 12 points.
 
Neumann(3-11, 1-0 Atlantic East) will be back in action this weekend as they head to northern New Jersey for another conference game against Centenary.
