RADNOR, Pa. – In their final ever regular season meeting, the Neumann University Men's Basketball team took out Cabrini University, 70-54, in an Atlantic East Conference game on Wednesday night.
After an early Cabrini jump shot, Neumann rattled off the next six points for an early lead. Both teams traded the lead back and forth until the 7:57 mark of the first half, when the Knights went on a 7-0 run, with
Amari Little scoring five of those points, for a five point advantage. The rest of the half was even with Neumann taking a nine point edge into the locker room.
For the first seven minutes of the second, the Knights maintained that lead but, with 14:17 left, a quick six point run, closed by a
Jarell Keel layup, pushed the lead to 14. Over a two minute stretch, starting at the nine minute mark, another 6-0 run ensued, closed by an easy bucket by
Jalen Vaughns, and Neumann found themselves up by 16. They extended to their largest lead with 2:42 left, at eighteen, and were not threatened the rest of the way.
TJ Lewis led the Knights offensively with 20 points, adding seven rebounds. Vaughns picked up another double-double with an 18 point, 16 rebound performance. Both Little and
Zaiyin Keys had double-digit points, each grabbing 10, with Keys adding three assists, and three steals.
Ja'bri White came off the bench to grab 11 boards.
Neumann (7-14, 5-3 Atlantic East) will return to action on Saturday for a Senior Day matchup against another Atlantic East Conference foe, Centenary University. The opening tip from the Mirenda Center is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
