ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team completed the season series sweep of Centenary University 86-70 on Saturday afternoon in an Atlantic East Conference matchup.
Prior to the game, the Knights honored seniors
Momo Kortue and
Jalen Vaughns along with graduate students
Bernard Lightsey and
Kyle Thompson.
Vaughns led all scorers with 25 points and 17 rebounds.
TJ Lewis netted 19 points and 10 boards. The junior went 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
Ja'bri White netted 14 points off the bench.
Jarell Keel tallied 11 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks.
With the Cyclones holding a one-point advantage, 26-25, a layup by White started a 9-0 run for the Knights and a 34-26 score with 4:46 left before halftime. The teams went back and forth until the break and Neumann took a 44-37 lead into the locker room.
The Knights held a double-digit lead for a good part of the second half. A jumper by Keel with 5:16 left in regulation put Neumann up by double-figures for good. A dunk by Keel later in the game gave the Knights their biggest lead, 86-68.
Neumann (8-14, 6-3 Atlantic East) heads to Marywood next Saturday for Atlantic East action beginning at 3:00 PM.
