WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Neumann University Field Hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision against McDaniel College on Friday afternoon to close out their non-conference schedule.
After a scoreless first quarter, McDaniel pushed the pace of the match, outshooting the Knights by a 6-0 margin in the first 30 minutes. With just over two minutes left in the second quarter, the Green Terror was able to strike on a reverse shot, taking a 1-0 lead. With 4:20 left in the third, McDaniel doubled their advantage on a redirected shot after a penalty corner. They added one more goal on a corner in the fourth to close out the game.
The Knights' best opportunity came midway through the fourth when
Torie Millward got a clean shot, but it was saved.
Emma Schneider and
Caley Gee split time in goal, combining for five saves in an effort to keep Neumann close.
Neumann (4-8) will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they open the Atlantic East Conference schedule at Marywood University. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
