SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Field Hockey team dropped a 6-0 decision against Marywood University in their Atlantic East Conference opener on Tuesday afternoon.
Neumann fell behind in a shot from the center of the circle 4:56 into the first quarter. Marywood doubled their lead on a penalty corner that was deflected in with 2:47 left. In the 21
st minute of the game, an outside shot that was deflected in the goal made it a 3-0 game. In the third, the Pacers scored twice in four minutes for a five-goal advantage. Marywood added one last goal in the fourth on an outside shot.
Molly McGee led the Knights with two shots.
Meghan Sheldrick had one shot on goal and
Cadence Conti took one shot.
Emma Schneider made five saves in her 30 minutes while
Caley Gee made 10 stops in her half.
Neumann (4-9, 0-1 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Saturday when they visit Gwynedd Mercy University at 12:00 PM.
