IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team picked up a pair of Atlantic East Conference wins on Saturday, defeating both Pratt Institute and Immaculata University by 3-0 scores.
The Knights opened the afternoon by taking Pratt Institute in three sets, 25-11, 25-9 and 25-18.
Bri Gautier and
Nayeli Cruz each tallied 10 kills for Neumann. Cruz finished with a .571 hitting percentage while Gautier hit. 389.
Dani Smith handed out 35 assists and notched four service aces.
Hannah Strohm finished with 17 digs.
Neumann held the pace in the sets. A kill by Gautier gave the Knights a 25-11 set one win. After Pratt started the second set with the first four points, the Knights took a 6-4 deficit and too a 20-6 lead. A kill by
Austin Raymer put Neumann up 2-0 with a 25-9 set win. The Knights sealed the conference win with a 25-18 set three win.
Gautier tallied another 10 kills in the 3-0 win over Immaculata. Set scores were 36-24, 25-14 and 25-10. Cruz and
Melissa Eddy each finished with nine kills. Smith dished out 34 assists. Strohm notched 11 digs and Eddy added 10.
Taylor Long served up four service aces.
The first set went back and forth. Neumann took a 23-21 lead before Immaculata scored the next three points for a 24-23 edge. A kill by Gautier, a service ace by
Emma Dobberstein and a kill by Eddy gave the Knights the 26-24 set one win.
The Knights scored the final five points of set two for the 25-14 win. Neumann jumped out to a 10-3 advantage in the third set and scored the final seven points, capped on another kill by Gautier, for the 25-10 set three, 3-0 match win.
Neumann (10-14, 4-1 Atlantic East) will host Centenary on Wednesday evening in the final conference match of the regular season. Action is slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.
