ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team shutout Cedar Crest College 3-0 on Wednesday evening.
Molly McGee opened the scoring in the 25
th minute with her first goal of the season. The junior took the ball down the field, made it around some defenders and put the ball in the back of the net for the 1-0 Neumann lead. The Knights held the one goal advantage at the half.
Cadence Conti doubled the Knights lead three minutes into the third quarter off a pass from McGee, for her second point of the game. Four minutes later,
Elle Smith put her own rebound into the back of the cage for a 3-0 score.
Emma Schneider started the game in net and made one save for the win over the first half.
Caley Gee made one save in the second half. The Knights outshot the Falcons 15-8 overall and 8-2 on the cage.
Neumann (4-7) heads to McDaniel on Friday for its final non-conference matchup of the season. Action is slated to get underway at 5:00 PM.
