TOWSON, Md. – The Neumann University men's basketball team battled to a 66-63 win at Goucher College on Tuesday evening.
TJ Lewis led the Knights with 21 points and eight rebounds.
Bryan Etienne added 13 points.
Goucher held the lead for most of the first half and took a 31-27 advantage into halftime.
The Knights scored the first seven points of the second half to take a 34-31 lead. The Gopher answered with a three-pointer to tie the game at 34. The teams traded baskets for a few minutes before Goucher built a seven-point advantage, 50-43, midway through the half.
Neumann started to chip away at the deficit and with 3:37 left on the clock tied the game at 59 on a jumper by Etienne.
Another jumper by Etienne with 1:13 left gave Neumann a 65-63 edge.
DJ Earl hit 1-of-2 free throws in the final minute to give Neumann the 66-63 win.
Neumann (2-0) is right back on the court tomorrow night as it heads to Penn State Brandywine. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 PM.
