ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Hockey dropped a 4-2 decision against Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) rivals, Arcadia University on Saturday afternoon.
Arcadia got on the board five minutes into the game for an early 1-0 advantage. Four minutes later, while on the power play, Neumann would equalize. After a face-off win,
Kaylynn Savoy slapped home a one-timer for her first goal of the season.
Kaila Booth and
Charlotte Labre earned assists as the they tied the game at one.
Midway through the second, Arcadia regained the lead on a power play goal. At the 13:18 mark,
Gia Santorello wristed home a power play goal for her first goal of the year, to even the game at two. Labre and Booth both picked up their second assists of the day. Three minutes later, Arcadia took the lead for good on another power play goal. They would add one more goal while on the advantage at the 4:40 mark of the third.
Savoy led the attack with three shots on goal. Santorello,
Kenna Sanders, and
Trish Dan had two shots each. Santorello and
Emma Tauken helped defensively with three blocked shots each.
Sydney Babin made 47 saves in goal.
Neumann (1-5, 0-4 MAC) will try to get into the win column on Friday night when they host King's College. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
