READING, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team defeated Alvernia University 3-2 on Friday evening in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action.<br />  <br /> Christine Worms opened the scoring at the 15:39 mark of the second period with her first goal as a Knight. Alyssa Papasodero and Gabby Massa tallied the assists. The Golden Wolves tied the game with 1:49 left before intermission.<br />  <br /> Most of the third period was scoreless with the teams knotted at one. On the power play late in the game, Gia Santorello put Neumann up 2-1 with 2:36 left on the clock. Trish Dan drew the assist on the go-ahead goal. Jamiyah Alexander scored her first goal of the season less than a minute later as an insurance goal. Kenna Sanders notched her first collegiate point on the assist for the eventual game-winner.<br />  <br /> The Golen Wolves pulled their goalie and found the back of the net to pull to within one with 34 seconds remaining. The Knights buckled down for the final 30 seconds to bring home the 3-2 win.<br />  <br /> Noelle Woodard made 35 saves in net for the win.<br />  <br /> Neumann (2-5-2, 1-4-2 MAC) heads right back to Alvernia tomorrow for the second game of the weekend.
