ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball come-back attempt against Marymount University fell short, 58-55, on Tuesday evening in Atlantic East Conference action.
 
Jalen Vaughns led the Knights with 20 points. 
TJ Lewis added 15 points and went 7-for-7 from the line.
 
The Saints held the pace of the first half and held an 11-6 advantage five minutes into the game. After a basket by the Knights, Marymount went on a 17-2 run for a 28-10 lead with 5:15 left in the first. Neumann ended the half on a 14-5 run for a 33-24 score at the break.
 
The Knights opened the second with seven straight points to pull within two, 33-31. The teams then began to trade baskets and with 12:49 on the clock a layup by Vaughns tied the game at 41. A free throw by Vaughns gave Neumann a 44-43 edge before Marymount went on an 8-0 run. The Knights answered with the next seven points and another tied game, this time at 51.
 
The Saints answered with a three-pointer for a 54-51 lead with 4:28 on the clock. Each team then hit two free throws before Marymount connected on a layup with 1:43 on the clock and a five points advantage. The final two points of the game came on two free throws by 
Jarell Keel. The Knights had a look in the final seconds to tie the game but could not get the ball to fall and the Saints held on for the 58-55 win.
 
Neumann (8-16, 6-5 Atlantic East) will wrap up regular season action on Friday evening when it hosts Immaculata beginning at 8:00 PM.
