WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Hockey team wiped out their United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) rivals, Wilkes University, 7-1, on Friday night.
 
At the 14:01 mark of the first period, 
Yancy Whitaker took a pass from 
Tyler Kulas for his ninth goal of the year, giving Neumann a 1-0 lead. In the second, struck for four more goals. With 15:45 left, 
Joe DiGiulio notched his third of the season, on assists from 
Cameron Hatziioannou and 
TJ Ezzard. 1:44 later, 
Tyler Inlow grabbed a pass from 
Luke Croucher, for a three goal edge. 1:45 later, the Knights made it 4-0 when 
Tony Andrews scored his sixth of the year on assists by Whitaker and Kulas. Inlow scored his second 1:01 later with a helper from 
Hunter Litman.
 
The third period saw the offense slow over the first 10 minutes but 
PJ Demitrio scored his sixth of the season, 9:55 in. DiGiulio and 
JD Speer were credited with assists. Inlow completed the hat-trick with 7:53 left in regulation as Demitrio and DiGiulio got the assists on Inlow's eighth of the year. Wilkes broke up the shutout on a shorthanded goal with 3:52 left in the third.
 
DeGiulio led the offense with eight shots on goal. Demitrio followed with six. Hatziioannou led defensively with three blocked shots. 
Cole DeFazio made 35 save in the victory, setting up the Knights for a chance to clinch a UCHC tournament bid in the final game of the season.
 
Neumann (7-15-1, 7-11-1 UCHC) will get that chance on Saturday afternoon as they again visit Wilkes. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
