CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team fell at Widener University 3-0 on Friday evening. Set scores were 25-12, 25-20 and 25-9.
Trey Edmonds led the Knights with eight kills.
Victor John tallied six and
Veryl Burns added five.
Dan Barckholtz handed out 19 assists.
Christian Johnson notched eight digs.
The teams went back and forth to start the match. Tied at five, the Pride scored six straight points. Widener scored nine of the final 10 points of the set for a 25-12 win.
The Knights took and early 5-2 lead in the second set. Down 15-13, Neumann scored three points to take a 16-15 lead. Widener answered with four straight points and nine of the next 12 to take a 24-19 lead. Edmonds tallied a kill before the Pride got set point for the 25-20 win.
Widener jumped out to a 12-1 lead in the third set and didn't look back for the 12-9 third set win and 3-0 match win.
Neumann (5-5) heads to Immaculata on Tuesday evening for action beginning at 7:00 PM.
