IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win at Immaculata University on Tuesday evening in Atlantic East Conference action. Set scores were 25-16, 25-21 and 25-20.
Trey Edmonds led the Knights with 14 kills and a .458 hitting percentage.
Veryl Burns tallied nine kills and a .615 hitting percentage.
Victor John added eight kills.
Dan Barckholtz handed out 27 assists. Edmonds also added eight digs while
Brandon Baskerville,
Christian Johnson, and
JP Perdomo each tallied seven.
In the first set, Neumann took a 14-12 edge and scored six straight points for a 20-12 advantage. A kill by John sealed the 25-16 set one win.
In the middle of set two, the Knights went from a 10-9 lead and scored seven of the next nine points for an 18-11 advantage. The Mighty Macs pulled back to within two a couple times. Leading 23-21, kills by Edmonds and Burns gave Neumann the 25-21 win.
Set three was much of the same. Leading 18-16, Neumann scored six of the next seven points for match points, 24-17. Immaculata tallied the next three points before a kill by Edmonds clinched the 25-20 set and 3-0 match win.
Neumann (6-5, 1-1 Atlantic East) will host Cairn on Thursday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
