ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team defeated Hood College on Tuesday evening in straight sets, 3-0. Set scores were 25-23, 25-11 and 25-15.
 
Trey Edmonds led the Knights with 14 kills. Veryl Burns tallied eight and JP Perdomo added six. Dan Barckholtz handed out 29 assists. Brandon Baskerville notched eight digs. Barckholtz added seven and Christian DeMarco finished with six. Burns also had five block assists.
 
The first set was a close one, as the teams stayed within a couple points of one another. Tied at 23, the Blazers had a service error before a Burns kill sealed the 25-23 set one win for the Knights.
 
Set two started the same way. Tied at six, Neumann scored seven of the next eight points to jump out to a 13-7 advantage. The Knights didn't slow down and built a 22-9 lead. A Burns service ace sealed the 25-11 second set win.
 
The Knights held the pace of the third set, opening with an 8-2 lead. A kill by Perdomo put Neumann at set and match point. A Blazers attack error gave the Knights the 25-15 set and 3-0 match win.
 
Neumann (8-5) heads to Cairn on Thursday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
