ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team suffered a 16-3 loss at the hands of Juniata College in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon.
Juniata opened the game by scoring three goals in the first quarter. After giving up a fourth goal early in the second,
Cionni Warrington got Neumann on the board with a free position goal for her fifth of the season. The Eagles responded 15 seconds later and added three more goals, taking an 8-1 lead into halftime.
40 seconds into the third quarter, the Knights struck again as
Maggie Blemings scored her first goal of the season, on the free position opportunity. Again, Juniata scored quickly, just 17 seconds later. They would add two more before
Ainsley George converted a free position try for her eight goal of the season. Juniata scored twice more in the third and added three in the fourth.
In addition to her goal, George had two shots on goal, two draw controls, and a caused turnover. Defensively,
Maggie Miller led with four caused turnovers, while
Leia DiNuova had two.
Catriona Corrigan made nine saves in goal.
Neumann (1-2) will return to action on Saturday when they host Notre Dame of Maryland. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
