Weekly Conference Awards Features Hoops Trio

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday and three Neumann University athletes were acknowledged. Jalen Vaughns was selected the Men's Basketball Player of the Week while Jarell Keel was picked the Defensive Player of the Week. Emily DuPont was named to the Women's Basketball Honor Roll.
 
Vaughns averaged 21.5 points and 16.5 rebounds in a 2-0 conference week for the Knights. He shot 78.8% from the free throw line (7-for-9). In the 70-54 win at Cabrini, the senior scored 18 points and 16 rebounds. Vaughns followed with 25 points and 17 rebounds in the 86-70 win over Centenary. For Vaughns, this is his sixth Player of the Week selection this season, and 14th of his collegiate career.
 
Keel averaged 10.0 rebounds and 9.0 points this week. Out of his 20 rebounds, 16 were defensive and Keel added five blocks. In the win at Cabrini, Keel tallied seven points and six board (five defensive). He followed with 11 points and 14 boards (11 defensive) in the triumph over Centenary. This is Keel's is his fourth award of the season, and his third weekly Defensive Player of the Week selection.
 
DuPont scored 23 points in the 70-61 win over Centenary in the lone game of the week for the Knights. The junior also grabbed five rebounds, a block, an assist, and a steal. With this selection, Dupont picks up her second consecutive weekly award, after being named Player of the Week seven days ago.
