ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team battled in a five-set match to King's College on Tuesday evening, falling 3-2.
Trey Edmonds tallied 17 kills in the match, to bring his season total to 246, setting the single season record (
Veryl Burns 244 – 2023). Burns added 14 kills.
Dan Barckholtz handed out 44 assists.
Brandon Baskerville and
Christian Johnson each notched 17 digs.
The Knights took the first two sets by 25-23 scores. In set two, down 23-20, Neumann scored five straight points. A kill by
JP Perdomo sealed the come-back win, 25-23.
Tied at 14, the Monarchs scored seven straight points for a 21-14 lead. King's went on to win 25-18 and force a fourth set. The Monarchs went to take a 7-6 edge and rattle off 12 points to take a 19-6 lead. King's won set four 25-14.
Heading into the final set, the Monarch's held an 8-6 advantage when the teams switch sides. King's went on to score the final seven points for the 15-6 set and 3-2 match win.
Neumann (12-8) hosts Immaculata on Thursday in the final home game of the regular season. Action is slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.
