ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team defeated Notre Dame of Maryland University 8-1 on a windy Wednesday afternoon.
The Knights opened the match by taking two of three matches in doubles play.
Kaitlyn Smith and
Kylie Seeger won 8-2 at first doubles. The duo of
Alura Troilo and
Juliet Schilling took third doubles, also by an 8-2 score.
The Knights swept singles for the 8-1 win. Smith won 6-2, 6-1 at first singles.
Dari Troilo swept second singles 6-0, 6-0. A. Troilo took third singles 6-3, 6-1. At fourth singles,
Rachel Frederick won 6-0, 6-0. Seeger continued the wines with a 6-0, 6-2 win in the fifth flight.
Sha'xaria Gordon rounded out the win, 6-1, 6-0 at sixth singles.
Neumann (3-1) is slated to host Kean on Saturday afternoon beginning at 12:00 PM.
