MYRTLE BEACH, S. C. – The Neumann University baseball team defeated Hilbert College 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon on its spring break trip.
The Knights scored all three runs in the top of the fifth. The first two batters were reached after being hit-by-pitch. The next two batters reached on errors to plate two runs.
Zion Spearman then hit a sacrifice fly for a 3-0 lead.
Zach Mullins went 6.1 innings for the win. He allowed one unearned run on five hits and struck out three.
Morgan D'Amico went 2.2 innings and struck out six for the save.
Brandon Colon and
Josh Finger each had two hits in the game.
Nick Glebocki,
Marcus White and
Donovan Brooks all scored for the Knights.
Neumann (3-2) will face Worchester Polytechnic Institute tomorrow. First pitch is at 3:00 PM.
