ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Tennis team was dealt a 5-4 loss at the hands of Rutgers-Camden on Friday afternoon.
The duos of
Hannah Asaka and
Kylie Seeger, along with
Kayleigh DellaVecchio and
Kannitha Phosouvanh-Sythong, each dropped close double matches. Asaka and Seeger fell 8-6, and Dellavecchio and Phosouvanh-Sythong's match was even tighter at 8-7, with a 7-5 tiebreaker. The third doubles match went Neumann's way with
Dari Troilo and
Alura Troilo picking up an 8-2 win.
In second singles, D. Troilo battled to a 7-2 tiebreaker loss in the first set before falling in the second.
Rachel Frederick, in fourth singles was dominant in a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Sha'xaria Gordon pitched a shutout in sixth singles with a 6-0, 6-0 performance, but it was not enough to win the day.
Neumann (5-3) will return to the court on Friday, April 19
th, when they host Kean University in their final non-conference match of the season. The action gets started at 3:30 PM.
