Humphreys Wins 800 & 1500 as Track & Field Competes at Bill Butler Invitational

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University Outdoor Track and Field teams took a short trip to West Chester to compete in the Bill Butler Invitational on Saturday afternoon as the women's team took home a top-ten finish.
 
Courtney Humphreys had a smashing day as she won both the 800-meter and the 1500-meter races. In the 800, she put together a career-best with a time of 2:20.79. Her time in the 1500 was also tops at 4:57.31. Katie Baier also competed in the 800 with a time of 2:57.73. In the 400-meter, she finished in 1:12.18. Humphreys remarked that "there was a lot of good competition here that pushed me. I ran the 800 for the first time this season and placed well, which I wasn't expecting."
 
Inn the 100-meter race, four Knights were there to compete with Kozette Quinn leading with a time of 13.47 seconds. Aniyah Holmes had a 13.66, Sahdahya Addy had a 14.11, and Neshaya Overton had a 15.05. Quinn also had a time of 27.99 in the 200 to lead all Neumann runner. Holmes and Overton followed with times of 28.20 and 31.71, with Holmes getting a personal best.
 
In the field events, Addy pulled off a personal best long jump of 4.68 meters. Allison Siravo led Neumann athletes with a 9.01-meter throw in the shot put. Sydney Wilson followed with a 7.99. Both also competed in the discus with Siravo getting a 22.50 meter and Willson a 20.41. Wilson had a personal best on the Javelin with a throw of 23.75 meters.
 
On the men's side, Isaiah Raye-Ryan was the lone Neumann competitor in the 100-meter as he finished with a time of 12.47. In the 200, he ran a personal best of 25.72 seconds. Wyatt Boyer led all Knights with a 23.50. Nahshon Harrison-Fobbs and Hakeem Hall also competed with times of 23.92 and 24.46. Harrison-Fobbs, in the 800-meter earned a personal-best time of 2:18.59 while Boyer had a 2:31.52. Tim Connell finished the 1500 with a time of 4:51.22.
 
On the field, Hakeem Hall had a long jump of 5.47 meters. Christian Johnson nabbed a personal best in the shot put with a distance of 8.25 meters. In the javelin, Carlos Wylde-Gladbach had a solid toss of 30.32 meters.
 
Humphreys summed up the meet and her team's performance at the end of the day. "I thought everyone performed well today despite the bad weather. We had some PRs(personal records), and improvements from last week."
 
Neumann will look to continue their improvement on Friday in Chester, Pa. at the Widener Invitational, hosted by Widener University.
