NEWARK, Del. – The Neumann University Track & Field teams took a short trip south to test their mettle against competition at all levels at the Delaware Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Delaware on Saturday afternoon.
Courtney Humphreys had a fifth place finish in the 1500-meter race, with a time of 5:07.11, leading all division three racers.
Katie Baier had a personal-best in the same race with a time of 6:17.30. In the 100,
Sahdahya Addy led all Neumann competitors with a time of 14.01 seconds. Following was
Neshaya Overton and
Djeneba Konake with times of 14.72 and 14.91.
Aniyah Holmes had a solid performance in the 200-meter with a time of 27.76 seconds followed by a 32.51 by Overton. Holmes picked up a time of 1:10.34 in the 400 while
Kyleigh Joniec had a 1:15.15. In the Field events, Joniec led all Knights javelin throwers with a distance of 28.45 meters.
Sydney Wilson had a 22.63. Both Wilson and
Allison Siravo earned personal bests in the hammer throw as Siravo had a 27.90 and Wilson had a 22.85.
Both competed in the shot put as well with Siravo tossing a 9.24 and Wilson a 7.63. Siravo laid down another personal best in the discus throw, with a distance of 24.61 meters. Addy had her own personal best in the long jump with a leap of 4.51 meters.
On the men's side,
Darriel Jones took on the 100-meter with a time of 11.80 seconds.
Hakeem Hall was right behind with a 12.01. In the 400,
Nahshon Harrison-Fobbs had a time of 57.45 as Hall had a 1:01.69. Harrison-Fobbs also had a time of 2:23.85 in the 800-meter. Hall also competed in the long jump with a distance of 5.40 meters.
Neumann will be back in competition on Thursday when they compete at the TCNJ Invitational in Ewing, N.J., hosted by the College of New Jersey.
