CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University Track & Field team took a short trip across the county to take part in the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday afternoon.
Wyatt Boyer led all Neumann runners in the 100-meter race with a time of 11.31 seconds. He was followed by
Nahshon Harrison-Fobbs' 11.68 and
Hakeem Hall's 11.94. In the 200, Boyer again paced the Knights with a time of 22.68. Harrison-Fobbs won his heat with a personal best time of 23.21 seconds. Hall also had a personal best, finishing in 24.05 seconds.
Tim Connell competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase and completed his race in 12:42.64. In the field, Hall had a long jump of 5.52 meters.
On the women's side,
Aniyah Holmes pulled off a personal best in the 100-meter to lead all Neumann runners with a time of 12.77 seconds, followed by
Kozette Quinn's 13.23.
Sahdahya Addy and
Neshaya Overton each pulled off personal bests with times of 13.78 and 14.83. In the 200, Holmes won her hear with a personal best of 26.16 with Quinn grabbing a 27.09.
Kyleigh Joniec and Overton each had personal best times of 30.22 and 30.73 seconds, respectively.
Katie Baier competed in both the 400-meter and 800-meter races and nabbed personal best times in both. She completed the 400 in 1:10.68 and the 800 in 2:46.14.
Courtney Humphreys improved upon her Atlantic East championship time in the 1500 with a time of 4:48.57. In the 4x100, the team of Holmes, Quinn, Addy, and Overton finished in a time of 52.27 seconds.
In the field events,
Allison Siravo threw the discus 22.83 meters. She also hurled the shot put 9.15 meters.
Sydney Wilson had a throw of 7.78 meters in the shot put while getting a personal best in the Javelin with a 23.87. Joniec also competed in the javelin with a 26.31. Finally, Addy had a solid leap of 5.07 meters in the long jump.
Today's meet signals the end of the regular season for the Knights. After a number of personal best times and distances, they'll hope to qualify for the 2024 NCAA National Championship on May 23
rd in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Those who don't qualify will look forward to next year to continue the improvement they've seen throughout the year.
