FREDERICK, Md. – The Neumann University Field Hockey team were handed a 5-1 loss against the Hood College Blazers in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.
Hood got on the board first as the put together two goals in the first quarter. 1:48 into the second, they made it a three goal advantage, which held through the halftime break. The intermission talk seemed to breathe new life into the Knights as they were on the attack early in the third. 2:40 into the frame,
Jess Silver reversed a shot past the goalkeeper for her first goal of the season. The Blazers didn't take long to respond as they scored 46 seconds later. They added one more with 6:52 left to close out the match.
Meghan Sheldrick led the Knights with two goals, one on goal. The Knights were outshot in the contest 26-8 and 13-6 on goal. They were also out-penalty cornered by a 13-5 margin.

Caley Gee did all they could between the posts, each nabbing four saves.
Neumann(2-4) will return to the field on Tuesday afternoon for a non-conference tilt against Delaware Valley University. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM at the Turf Field.
