ASTON, Pa. – On an afternoon where they honored their class of 2025, the Neumann University Field Hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to King's College in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.
Although the first half went scoreless, it was a back and forth affair as Neumann outshot King's 4-1 in the first, but the trend reversed in the second when the Monarchs led in that category, 4-0. The third quarter was more of the same until, with 24 seconds remaining, King's took a 1-0 lead. Four minutes into the fourth, the Monarchs were able to double their lead. Neumann pushed to get back into the game but never could find a goal.
Gabriella Cappelli led the Knights offense with three shots, all on goal.
Elle Smith had two shots with one on, and
Natalia Thomas took two shots.
Emma Schneider made three saves in goal.
Neumann(3-5) will have a quick turnaround as they are back in action on Monday afternoon against Virginia Wesleyan. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
