REISTERSTOWN, Md. – The Neumann University Men's Hockey team played their first Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) game of 2025 on Friday night and were dealt a 6-1 loss against Stevenson University.
Stevenson got on the board just 1:11 into the game and they doubled their advantage at the 6:55 mark for a 2-0 lead. While on the power play, the Mustangs struck again and took a three-goal lead with 1:40 remaining in the first period. Although they could not find the back on the net, Neumann had an improved second period as they outshot Stevenson, 16-10.
With 7:44 left in the third, Stevenson scored twice in 56 seconds for a 5-0 lead. Right after that fifth goal, Neumann went on the power play, and they were able to convert.
Lucas Culhane backhanded in his sixth goal of the season.
Tyler Ray and
Tyler Inlow earned assists as the Knights were able to avoid the shutout. The Mustangs scored on their own man advantage at the 17:05 mark to close out the game.
Cameron Hatziioannou led the attack with four shots on goal.
PJ Demitrio was sharp in the faceoff circle, winning 12 of 21 draws.
Judd Katz blocked three shots while Ray blocked two.
Cole DeFazio made 30 saves in the effort.
Neumann (8-3-2, 5-2-2 MAC) will again challenge Stevenson tomorrow afternoon for a 3:00 PM start down in Maryland.
