HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Neumann University Women's Hockey team dropped a tight 1-0 decision in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) game on Thursday afternoon against Hood College.
The first period was a scoreless affair with both teams getting some quality opportunities on goal. Two minutes into the 2
nd, Hood thought they had a goal, but it was disallowed due to the puck being kicked into the net. With 6:34 left in the middle period, the Blazers opened the scoring on a quick break into the left side of the zone. Although the Knights picked up 16 shots on five power play opportunities, they could not find the back of the net.
Gia Santorello,
Lian Sydorowicz, and
Kaylynn Savoy led the offensive effort with five shots each.
Cecelia Mick contributed four shots while blocking a game-high three shots.
Noelle Woodard got the call between the pipes and made 39 saves.
Neumann (4-10-2, 3-8-2 MAC) and Hood College will conclude this week's two-game set on Friday starting at 4:45 PM.
