ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team opened its fall schedule against Arcadia, dropping the competition 5-2.
Arcadia took the doubles point by taking two of the three matches. The duo of
Kayleigh DellaVecchio and
Juliet Schilling won their doubles match 6-4.
Alura Troilo and
Sha'xaria Gordon battled at first doubles, dropping the match 7-5.
Troilo took the battle to first doubles and came away with a 6-4, 7-5 win. Gordon dropped her first set 6-3 at second singles, but came back and took the match 6-4, 6-1.
"I saw fight in everyone today," says Troilo, team captain. "It was great to kick off the season and get into competitive mode. Most of all, we kept it classy, as Neumann always does."
Neumann (0-1) is back on the court when it hosts Penn State Abington on Thursday beginning at 3:30 PM.
