Men’s Hockey Picked First in MAC Preseason Poll

NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced the results of their 2025-2026 Men's Hockey Preseason Coaches poll and Neumann University was picked to finish at the top of the standings.

The Knights collected five of the eight possible first place votes and finished with 45 points in total. Last year's regular season champion, Wilkes came in the second slot with 41 points, including two first place votes. Stevenson, the defending conference tournament champion, was third, earning one first place vote on their way to 36 points. Alvernia finished just one point behind with 35 points to earn fourth. Arcadia and Lebanon Valley were fifth and sixth with 28 and 17 points, respectively, while King's and Misericordia tied for seventh with 11.

Last year, the Knights had an overall record of 16-7-3 with a MAC conference record of 13-5-3, putting them in third place. In the tournament semifinals, they were dealt a hard luck 2-1 overtime loss by Stevenson University. The overall record was an improvement of nine wins from the previous season. It was their first winning record since the 2016-17 season and their first playoff appearance in three years.

The Knights will look to start their season off strong on Halloween weekend with non-conference home games against Nazareth University and SUNY Brockport. They will open conference play the following weekend at home against Lebanon Valley College. The regular season will end on February 20th at King's College. The top four teams make the postseason with the semifinals on February 28th and the championship on March 7th. All playoff games will be hosted by the higher seeded team.
