Knights Nab Multiple Atlantic East Men’s Soccer Postseason Awards

HADDONFIELD, N.J. – The three-time Atlantic East Conference Men's Soccer champions took home plenty of individual hardware on Wednesday afternoon as the conference announced their 2025 postseason awards.
 
Jordan Illian was named the Offensive Player of the Year and Dominic Petruzzelli was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Both were also named to the First team and Petruzzelli earned the Elite 20 Award. AJ Henry and Luke Mejia were both also named to the All-Conference First Team. Zion Atta-Krah, Markus Beugre, and Carter Gorczyca were all named to the All-Conference Second Team while Coach Erik Temple and his staff was named the Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Illian led the conference in shots with 104, and was second in shots on goal with 40, goals with 13, assists with five, game-winning goals with three, and points with 31. In Neumann program terms, his performance this season puts him tied for third in points, tied for fifth in penalty shots made with two, tied for second in goals, and tied for sixth in game-winning goals. His four goals and 10 points on October 11th against Pratt is the most in a single game in Neumann history.  He is a two-time Atlantic East Player of the Week and was named to the weekly Honor Roll on September 15th.
 
Petruzzelli earned Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Logging over 1,500 minutes, he helped captain the defense to the lowest goals against in the conference. The Knights gave up 25 goals in 19 games, leading to a 1.32 goals against average. The Elite 20 Award is given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the final site of the championship and finishing in the top two teams. Back on September 2nd, he was named the Atlantic East Defensive Player of the Week.
 
L. Mejia finished the season with four goals and conference-high six assists for 14 points, which was tied for fifth. His best performance of the year came on October 11th at Pratt with he picked up two goals and an assist. Last year, he was named to the All-Conference Second Team.
 
Henry had a huge year in goal for the Knights, finishing with a personal record of 12-1-3, with the one-loss coming against Division I Delaware. His 12 wins is tied for the most in a single-season in Neumann history. His eight shutouts dominated the conference by four. He had a conference-best 1.13 goals against average. He was named the Atlantic East Defensive Player of the Week, twice, and named to the weekly Honor Roll, twice.
 
Atta-Krah was named the conference Player of the Week on September 29th. He finished the year with six goals and two assists for 14 points. Of his six goals, two were game winners, both of which were in the Atlantic East tournament. Atta-Krah has now been named to the All-Conference Second Team twice.
 
Beugre played in 18 games so far this season, with 13 starts. He has four goals, two game winners, and an assist for nine points.
 
Gorczyca has been a huge component of the Knights' defense this season. Logging over 1,500 minutes, his efforts helped Neumann to the conference's lowest goals against average. On October 8th, he scored the first goal of his collegiate career. This is his second All-Conference selection after being named to the First Team last year.
 
For the second straight year, the Neumann coaches were named the Coaching Staff of the Year. Coach Temple's staff, with assistant coaches Zack Swarbrick, Daniel Lewis, Daniel Rival, and Dean Temple, closed the regular season with four straight wins, then two more wins in the conference tournament. In all, the Knights have won nine in a row against Division III opponents and are unbeaten in their last 13 against Division III teams.
