Women’s Hockey Slowed by Arcadia

COLMAR, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Hockey dropped the first part of this weekend's home-and-home series against Arcadia University on Friday afternoon by a final score of 6-1.
 
Arcadia got on the board first on a rush 2:08 into the game. Neumann responded a few minutes later while on the power play. Lucie Velinska took a rebound and dropped the puck to Harper Oakes who wristed in her first collegiate goal, tying the game at one with 14:14 left in the period. Arcadia retook the lead with their own power play goal at the 10:49 mark and they added one more with 2:01 left.
 
With 8:24 left in the second, Arcadia made it a 4-1 game with a breakaway goal for the only goal in the middle period. In the third, with 14:01, they made it a four goal lead and closed the game with one more at the 12:09 mark.
 
Kenna Sanders led the Knights with four shots on goal with Oakes throwing three on net. Velinska contributed defensively with three blocked shots as did Katrina Conway. Brook Adams made 51 saves in net.
 
Neumann (0-5, 0-3) and Arcadia will conclude this weekend's two-game set on Saturday afternoon at the IceWorks Skating Complex at 2:00 PM.
