HADDONFIELD, N.J. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and three Neumann University athletes were recognized. Men's Basketball's
Donte Dupriest was named the Defensive Player of the Week while his teammate,
DJ Earl was named to the weekly Honor Roll.
Emily DuPont of the Women's Basketball team was also named to the Honor Roll.
Dupriest averaged 16.3 points and 9.0 rebounds in a 2-1 week for the Knights. In the 74-65 win at Penn State Brandywine, the senior scored 10 points and grabbed 10 boards while picking up five steals. In the 99-74 loss at Swarthmore, Dupriest scored 14 points, going 6-for-6 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the line. In the home opener, the senior scored 25 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in the 73-59 win over Goucher. This is the fifth Defensive Player of the Week of his career.
Earl averaged 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists this week. In the win at Penn State Brandywine, the senior netted 21 points and went 8-for-9 from the free throw line. Earl followed with 10 points in the loss at Swarthmore. To wrap up the week, the senior sank 25 points, including five baskets from beyond the arc, in the win over Goucher. This is the fourth weekly Honor Roll nod of his career.
DuPont averaged 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in an 0-2 week for Women's Basketball. She also added seven steals and six blocks. The 5th year scored 15 points in each game. She also grabbed 10 boards in the loss to Ursinus, went 4-for-4 from the line and blocked four shots. This is her second weekly award of the season after being named Defensive Player of the Week last week.
