CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Basketball team got back to a .500 record as they took down Widener University in non-conference action on Thursday night by a final score of 93-82.
Donte Dupriest led with a double-double, putting down a game-high 27 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 91.7% from the field.

Neumann got off to a quick start, scoring six of the game's first eight points but Widener came right back to tie the game, three minutes in. Over the next 3:38, the Knights went on a 13-2 push, highlighted by an alley oop from Earl to Etienne, extending the lead to 19-8. That lead held for the next three minutes before the Pride pushed back within five with a 9-3 run over the next two minutes. With five minutes left in the half, a 6-0 run got Widener within two at 33-31 but Etienne again broke free for a thunderous dunk to stop the run. After the Pride called timeout, they went ahead 38-35 thanks to seven straight points in 1:15. Widener scored six of the last 10 points in the half to take a five-point lead to the locker room.
The Knights came out with fire to start the second half as after they gave up the first bucket, they went on a 10-point run over 2:35, punctuated by an Earl three to take a 49-46 lead. The Pride got two points back but again Neumann went on an extended push of 15 points over the next 2:57 to break things open and lead 64-48 with 13:05 left. The advantage stayed the same over the next five minutes before the Pride went on a 9-2 run, making it a 79-69 game with 6:34 left. Widener pulled within nine with four minutes left but would get no closer as a six-point run would secure the game for the Knights.
Neumann (3-3) will return to the court on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference tilt against Penn State Abington. The opening top is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
