SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team dropped a 74-47 decision to Lehman College in the consolation game of the Hilton Scranton Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Julian Phillips led the Knights with 10 points.
DJ Earl netted nine points.
Donte Dupriest grabbed seven rebounds and six points.
The game started with the teams going back and forth. Over the first 14 minutes, there were four lead changes and five tied scores. Tied at 21 with 6:15 on the clock, Lehman scored the final 14 points of the half to take a 35-21 lead into halftime.
Earl connected on two free throws early in the second half to break Neumann's scoring drought. The Lightning continued to build on their lead throughout the second half, leading by as many as 32.
Aaron Williams had a layup at the buzzer, he first basket as a Knight, for the 74-47 final.
Neumann (0-2) travels to Penn State Brandywine on Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
