ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Basketball won their fifth game in a row as they defeated Penn State Schuylkill on Monday night by a final score of 85-65.
Donte Dupriest picked up a doubled-double by scoring 29 points on 75% shooting, securing 10 rebounds, and adding a team-high four assists.
Bryan Etienne also had a double-double with 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
DJ Earl contributed 20 points.
The Nittany Lions came out of the gate quick as they scored the game's first eight points forcing an early timeout. Neumann went on a 10-4 run over the next 3:15 to pull back into the game. Two minutes later, with the score even at 14, the Knights pulled away with a 10-3 run to lead 24-17 with 9:02 left in the half. A later 15-2 run over a four minute span extended their edge to 18. They close the half with the last five points, accented by an Etienne dunk with 38 seconds left to lead 45-27 at the break.
Neumann maintained that advantage throughout the second half with both teams trading small runs over the first 10 minutes. With 6:16 left, Penn State Schuylkill tried to formulate a comeback. The Knights were up by 26 points when the Nittany Lions score 17 of the last 28 points, but they couldn't get any closer.
Neumann (6-3) will return to action on Thursday night when they host Penn State Lehigh Valley for a 7:00 PM start.
