ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Basketball team defeated Penn State Lehigh Valley on Thursday night by a final score of 75-62.
DJ Earl was Neumann's top scorer with 30 points.
Donte Dupriest had a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
Izaiah Johnson Young-El had a formidable game as well with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Both teams were evenly matched to start with Neumann taking an 8-4 lead after four minutes of play. The Nittany Lions kept pace until the 10:49 mark when they initiated a 10-0 run for a 21-13 lead with 7:37 left in the first. The Knights roared right back with 10 of the next 12 points, tying the game at 23 with 5:34 left until the half. Penn State Lehigh Valley again took charge with an 8-2 run before responded with a 5-2 push to close the half.
The tread of trading runs continued to begin the second half but with 14:13 left scored eight in a row for a 44-41 lead. At the 8:31 mark, the Nittany Lions again tied the game with a three-point field goal, marking the last time they would threaten a win. Over the next 4:31, the Knights rattled off 15 straight points to take command for the duration of the game. The 67-52 would see Penn State Lehigh Valley answer with a 10-2 run but over the last minute, Neumann would again hit their shots to walk away victorious.
Neumann (7-3) will close out the 2025 calendar year on Saturday afternoon when they host Haverford College in their final non-conference game. The opening tip is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
