ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball teams wrapped up 2025 winning its seventh straight game, defeating Haverford College 73-59 on Saturday afternoon.
Donte Dupriest tallied a double-double with 20 points and 18 rebounds.
DJ Earl netted 18 points.
Julian Phillips netted 16 points and went 9-for-10 from the line.
Izaiah Johnson Young-El added 12 points.
The teams remained close in the first half with eight lead changes and three tied scores. With 1:46 left in the first, the Fords hit a three-pointer for a 32-25 lead. The Knights answered with two straight three-pointers from
Emeer Coombs and Earl. Neumann finished the half on an 8-2 run capped by Johnson Young-El stealing the ball at midcourt and hitting a layup at the buzzer for a 34-33 Haverford lead at the break.
Earl opened the second half with a three-pointer to put the Knights up 36-34. The Ford tied the game at 36 with a layup, but Neumann answered with four straight points. The teams continued to go back and forth and were knotted at 52 midway through the half.
Over the next six-plus minutes, Neumann went on a 13-2 run to take a 65-54 advantage. After a Haverford free throw, the Knights scored six consecutive points to extend their lead to 16, 61-55. The push in the final 10 minutes of the game was enough for Neumann to come away with the 73-59 victory.
Neumann (8-3) is off for the holiday break and will be back in action on January 7 when it hosts Immaculata to open Atlantic East action. Tip-off is slated at 7:00 PM, following the women's game.
