ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball dropped a 3-0 match to Wilkes University on a snowy Tuesday night. Set scores were 25-12, 25-17 and 26-24.
Trey Edmonds led the Knights with 14 kills, 10 digs and three service aces.
Mason Fleisher added six kills and a .364 hitting percentage.
Noah Banaag handed out 17 assists while
Christian Johnson tallied 10.
Johnson opened the match with a service ace. Wilkes then used a few runs to take the first set 25-12. The Colonels jumped out to an early 13-6 lead in the second set and came away with the 25-17 win.
The Knights made some noise in the third set and took an 8-5 edge on a service ace by Banaag. Neumann continued to build its lead and held a 20-14 advantage. Wilkes answered by scoring eight of the next nine points to take a 22-21 lead. A kill by Fleisher put the Knights at set point, 24-23, but the Colonels answered with three straight points for the 26-24 set win and 3-0 match win.
Neumann (2-4) heads to Gallaudet this weekend for a tri-match. The Knights will face the host at 12:00 PM, followed by Lynchburg at 2:00 PM.
