WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon. The Knights defeated host Gallaudet University 3-1 before falling to the University of Lynchburg 3-0.
The Knights opened the afternoon with a 3-1 win over the Bisons.
Trey Edmonds led with12 kills and 10 digs.
Isaiah Thomas tallied 11 kills.
Christian DeMarco notched 22 digs.
Victor John added 10 digs.
Noah Banaag handed out 35 assists.
The Bisons took the first set 25-19. The Knights came back and tied the match at one with a 25-20 set two win. Neumann continued with the pressure in the third set, winning 25-18. A kill by
Mason Fleisher gave the Knights the 25-14 set three and 3-1 match win.
Against the Hornets, Banaag handed out 19 assists. Thomas tallied four service aces. DeMarco finished 20 digs and Edmonds added seven kills and 10 digs
Lynchburg won the first set 25-13. Down 21-16 in the second set, the Knights rattled off seven straight points for a 23-21 advantage. The Hornets scored five of the next six points to take the set 26-24. Lynchburg finished the match with a 25-20 third set win.
Neumann (3-5) returns home on Monday to host Hood College beginning at 7:00 PM.
