HERSHEY, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Hockey team dropped a 6-1 decision against Lebanon Valley College in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) game on Friday night.
Marissa Rumsey,
Charlotte Labre, and
Kaylynn Savoy led the Knights' offensive effort with two shots on goal each. In addition to the lone Neumann goal,
Adriana O'Heron, along with
Cecelia Mick, and
Brooke Markley, each had two blocked shots.
Sydney Babin made 32 saves in goal.
Lebanon Valley got on the board with a one-timer from the slot, 2:27 into the game. The Neumann settled down from there although they were mostly in their defensive zone. With 2:26 left in the period,
Jenna Calchi grabbed a turnover and moved into the offensive zone. Although her shot was blocked, it landed on the stick of O'Heron who picked up the first goal of her collegiate career, tying the game at one.
The Flying Dutchwomen regained the lead four minutes into the second then double their advantage with 8:38 left in the middle stanza, making it a 3-1 game heading into the third period. Lebanon Valley turned the game into a three-goal edge just 12 seconds into the final period. They added on at the 7:09 mark, and again at 16:17 with the power play.
Neumann (4-15-3, 3-13-3) will try to get back into the win column next Friday night when they visit King's College for a 7:00 PM start.
