Women’s Hockey Drops Close Game at King’s

PITTSTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Hockey team were handed a 3-2 loss against King's College in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action on Friday night.

Both Kaylynn Savoy and Kaila Booth had two point games, each garnering a goal and an assist. Gia Santorello led in shots with six as Savoy had four and Alyssa Papasodero had three. Noelle Woodard made 39 saves in goal.

King's got on the board with 6:06 left in the first period with a wrist shot from the right side point. Just over a minute later, and while on the power play, Santorello entered the offensive zone and left the puck for Kaila Booth, who then moved it to the corner. Lian Sydorowicz found it and skipped a pass across the slot to Savoy. Savoy wristed in her sixth goal of the season, sending the game into the second, even at one.

Midway through the middle period, Neumann struck again with another power play goal. Booth moved across from the left side wall and fired home her second goal of the season. Savoy and Charlotte Labre got the assists as the Knights took a 2-1 lead. 1:36 later, the Monarchs equalized with a power play goal of their own. King's would take the lead for good with a goal halfway through the third period.

Neumann (4-16-3, 3-14-3) will close out the season on Saturday afternoon as they host Hood College for a 2:00 PM start.
