LANCASTER, Pa. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon and four Neumann University athletes were recognized.
Brendan Boschi was named the Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week while
TJ Lewis and
Donte Dupriest of the Men's Basketball team, and
Emily DuPont of the Women's Basketball team were named to the weekly Honor Roll.
Boschi scored five goals and handed out five assists in the season opener on Saturday. In the 18-17 overtime loss to Virginia Wesleyan, the junior had 14 shots, 10 on net, and picked up two ground balls. He also assisted on the game-tying goal that forced overtime with six seconds left in regulation. This is the fourth Player of the Week honor of his collegiate career.
Lewis averaged 20.0 points in a 1-1 conference week for the Men's Basketball team. He finished 14-for-16 from the line. In the 86-82 loss at Centenary, the senior scored 21 points with five rebounds, a block and a steal. He celebrated his senior day with 19 points in a 92-59 win over Pratt. Lewis went 7-for-7 from the line, grabbed four rebounds, two assists and a steal. This is his fifth weekly award of the season, and his fourth weekly Honor Roll selection.
Dupriest averaged 15.5 rebounds and 14.5 points in a 1-1 week for Neumann. The junior tallied 16 rebounds and eight points, in the game at Centenary. He added five assists and a block. Dupriest got back in the double-double column with 21 points and 15 boards in the win over Pratt. The junior also had three steals in the win. This is his seventh weekly award of the season and his second Honor Roll selection.
DuPont scored 17 points in Women's Basketball's lone game of the week. In the 73-69 loss to Centenary, the senior grabbed seven rebounds, while adding three assists, three blocks and two steals. She picks up her 11
th weekly Honor Roll selection of the season.
